چکیده
Timing is everything when trying to land a mate. In many species, female receptivity tomale sexual advances is synchronized to fertility and is mediated by steroid hormones produced in the gonads, such as oestrogens. How these hormones tune neural circuits to transition females to mate-seeking mode is unclear. In a series of elegant experiments, neuroscientist Jenna McHenry and colleagues in Garret Stuber’s laboratory at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA, investigated a hormone-responsive neural circuit important for mate attraction in female mice.

P-32: The Effect of Cell Phone Waves (900 MHZ - GSMBand) on Sperm Parameters and Total Antioxidant Capacity in Adult Male Rats
Background: There is a great concern for the possible adverse effects of cell phones’ microwaves. Contradictory results, however, have been reported for the effects of these waves on the body. In the present study, the effect of cell phone microwaves on sperm parameters and total antioxidant capacity was investigated with regard to the duration of exposure and the amount of the frequency of the...

Background: There is a great concern for the possible adverse effects of cell phones and noise waves and it looks these wave effects on the individuals’ health. Thus, the present study was conducted to examine the effect of cell phone waves, severity noise, and simultaneous effect of cell phone waves and severity noise on sperm motility and sexual hormones in adult male rats. Materials and Meth...
متن کاملIn Vitro Effect of Cell Phone Radiation on Motility, DNA Fragmentation and Clusterin Gene Expression in Human Sperm
Background Use of cellular phones emitting radiofrequency electromagnetic field (RF-EMF) has been increased exponentially and become a part of everyday life. This study aimed to investigate the effects of in vitro RF-EMF exposure emitted from cellular phones on sperm motility index, sperm DNA fragmentation and seminal clusterin (CLU) gene expression. MaterialsAndMethods In this prospective stud...
متن کاملThe Effect of Cellular Phone Microwave Radiation on Sperm Fertility Indices (Count, Motility, Viability and Morphology) in Mice
Background & objectives: Cell phone microwave (MW) is one of the most harmful physical agents in modern society. This study was designed to determine the effects of exposure to cell phone microwaves on mice sperm morphologic indices. Methods: Animals were divided into two groups including: Microwave (MW) (n=6; exposed to 950-MHz cell phone MW with 5 W output power density and 200 KHz modulatio...

Background To evaluate predictive factors of successful microdissection-testicular sperm extraction (MD-TESE) in patients with presumed Sertoli cell-only syndrome (SCOS). MaterialsAndMethods In this retrospective analysis, 874 men with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA), among whom 148 individuals with diagnosis of SCOS in prior biopsy, underwent MD-TESE at Department of Andrology, Royan Institu...
متن کاملP-116: The Catalase Effect on LDH Enzyme Leakage of Buffalo Epididymal Sperm During Culture in Human Tubal Fluid Mediaa
Background: Mammalian spermatozoa are highly susceptible to lipid peroxidation, which leads to structural damage to the sperm cell, the enzymatic leakage from spermatozoa accompanied by lowered motility and metabolism. Catalase, an enzyme that detoxify hydrogen peroxide and reduce the enzyme leakage from sperm cell Materials and Methods: For this study, buffalo bull testicles (20 pairs) were pi...
